NovaMarine, a division of the Sturrock Grindrod Maritime Group, has an exciting opportunity available for a suitable candidate to join an internship program in the technical field.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and responsibilities

• Assist in the servicing of technical equipment and services.
• Assist with administration and record keeping, relating to the servicing of equipment.
• Ensure that all health and safety rules and regulations are adhered to.
• Maintain a clean and tidy workshop.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Minimum N3 Mechanical / Electrical / Technical related qualification, N4 preferred.
• Alternatively, Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics as a subject, and an enthusiasm for technical concepts and a hands-on approach.

Experience

• Prior experience in a technical role would be advantageous.

Skills and competencies

• The ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings is advantageous.
• Basic computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
• A valid driver’s licence is preferable.
• Clear criminal record and able to apply for passport, if necessary.
• Be physically fit and able to work in harsh conditions.
• The ability to interact with customers and employees.
• Make and action decisions in an effective manner.
• Well organised, sober habits and high attention to detail.
